Overview

Automatic water delivery—from inside your tank

The Subtron-50 is a submersible clean-water pressure pump for household water systems, garden watering and other applications requiring pressurised water.

Designed to operate submerged in your water supply, it includes integrated controls that automatically start the pump when water is used and stop it when demand ends. Built-in dry-run protection helps protect the pump if water becomes unavailable.

A compact alternative to a surface-mounted pump with a separate controller.

Suitability depends on your required flow and pressure, pipework, elevation and any filtration equipment. Check the Performance tab or contact us for help choosing.

Please note this pump has a maximum of seven stop/starts per two minutes. Once it reaches this, it will need to be restarted. A pressure tank is essential. Contact us to discuss suitable options.

Performance

  • Maximum head: 50 metres
  • Maximum pressure: approximately 71 PSI / 4.9 bar
  • Maximum flow: 100 litres per minute
  • Controller start pressure: 2.2 bar
  • Maximum submergence: 7 metres

Maximum head and maximum flow are separate limits. Refer to the pump curve for the pressure available at your required flow.

Allow for elevation, pipework and filtration losses when checking whether the pump will deliver enough pressure at your outlets.

FAQs

Will this pump suit my home?
The right pump depends on your simultaneous water demand and required pressure. Send us your water source, pipe lengths and sizes, elevation difference and filtration details so we can help check suitability.

Does it sit inside the tank?
Yes. It is designed to operate submerged in clean water. Follow the supplied installation instructions, including the required water coverage and maximum submergence depth.

Do I need a separate controller?
No. Automatic start and stop controls are integrated into the pump.

Will it provide constant pressure?
The controls automate operation; they do not maintain one fixed pressure. Available pressure varies with flow and the demands of your installation.

Should I add a pressure tank?
This pump has a maximum of seven stop/starts per two minutes. Once it reaches this, it will need to be restarted. A pressure tank is essential. Contact us for help choosing the tank size and settings.

Does it need priming?
It operates submerged, so it does not draw water through a suction pipe like a surface pump. Follow the supplied venting and commissioning instructions before starting.

What happens if the tank runs out of water?
Built-in dry-run protection helps protect the pump. However, the required water coverage must be maintained, and repeated low-water events should be investigated.

Can it supply sprinklers or garden irrigation?
Yes, provided the required flow and pressure are within the pump’s performance range. Check the combined demand of the sprinklers that will operate together.

Can it pump dirty water?
This model is intended for clean water. Choose a purpose-designed drainage or dirty-water pump for water containing mud or debris.

Will it make my water safe to drink?
No. It delivers water but does not filter or disinfect it. Your supply may require testing, filtration and UV treatment. See our Why Filter Your Water? guide.

Can it supply an uphill property or two-storey home?
Possibly. Elevation, pipework and filtration reduce the pressure available at your outlets. Contact us so we can check the required flow and pressure against the pump’s performance.

Are spare parts available?
Contact us with the model/SKU, photos and details of the part required. We can confirm the correct replacement and availability.
