4" Submersible Bore Pump – 2.2kW

Overview
Our highest-head option in the 4STM4 range
This 2.2kW submersible bore pump offers the greatest pumping head in our 4STM4 range, making it an option for installations with substantial lift or delivery-pressure requirements.
Suitable applications include household water supply, farm water systems, irrigation and transferring water to storage tanks, where its performance matches the required flow and head.
Supplied complete with motor, 35-metre cable pre-wired into the pump, and a separate surface-mounted control box. The pump cable must be wired into the control box before use.
Selection depends on your bore diameter, pumping water level, available water yield, required flow and delivery pressure—not simply the bore’s total depth.
Correct motor cooling is essential. Installation must provide the required water flow past the motor. Tanks, reservoirs or wider bores may require a cooling sleeve.

Performance
- Motor power: 2.2kW
- Maximum head: approximately 170 metres
- Head at 60 LPM: approximately 120 metres
- Head at 80 LPM: approximately 90 metres
- Performance shown on graph: 0–100 litres per minute
- Maximum starts: 30 per hour
Follow the orange curve for 4STM4/27. Available head decreases as flow increases. Allow for pumping lift, delivery elevation, pipework losses and pressure required at your outlets.

FAQs
Will this pump fit my bore?
The manufacturer specifies a minimum well diameter of 4". Check the bore’s actual internal diameter, joints and any restrictions to ensure adequate installation clearance. The installation must also provide the required cooling flow past the motor.
Is it ready to plug in and use?
The 35-metre cable is already wired into the pump, but it must be connected to the supplied control box before use. Have the connection completed by a qualified electrician.
Does the included control box automatically respond to water demand?
No. The supplied control box includes a run capacitor, isolator switch and manual-reset overload protection. Separate compatible controls are needed for automatic operation based on water pressure or tank level.
Does it deliver its maximum head at every flow rate?
No. Available head decreases as flow increases. Follow your model’s labelled curve to check the head available at your required flow.
Is 100 LPM the maximum flow?
The supplied graph shows performance up to 100 LPM. This is the end of the displayed range, rather than confirmation of the pump’s absolute maximum flow.
How do I know whether it will deliver enough pressure?
The pump must overcome the lift from the pumping water level, delivery elevation and pipework losses while providing the pressure required at your outlets. Send us your installation details so we can help check the required flow against the curve.
Can I install it 80 metres down?
The 80-metre maximum immersion rating is separate from pumping head and total installation depth. Suitability depends on the pumping water level, required flow and delivery pressure. The supplied cable is 35 metres; deeper installations require suitable additional cable and correctly rated connections.
Can I use it in a tank or reservoir?
Potentially, provided the installation delivers sufficient cooling flow past the motor. A cooling sleeve may be required in tanks, reservoirs or wider bores. Contact us before choosing this pump for those applications.
Can it pump sandy water?
The supplied specifications do not state a permitted sand content. Contact us with details of your bore’s water quality so we can confirm suitability.
Does it include a non-return valve?
Yes. A non-return valve is incorporated into the pump. Any additional valves should follow the installation instructions and system requirements.
Does it have dry-run protection?
The listed thermal and overload protection should not be treated as dry-run protection. If your bore could run low, contact us about suitable protection against loss of water.
How often can it start?
The manufacturer specifies a maximum of 30 starts per hour. Correctly selected controls and, where appropriate, a pressure tank can help manage frequent starts.
Can it supply irrigation or fill a storage tank?
Yes, where its performance meets the required flow and head, and the bore can sustainably supply that flow. Contact us about controls suited to your application.
Will it make bore water safe to drink?
No. The pump moves water; it does not filter or disinfect it. Bore water may require testing and treatment before drinking. See our Why Filter Your Water? guide.
Are spare parts available?
Contact us with the model/SKU, photos and details of the part required. We can confirm compatibility and availability.
What information do you need to help me choose?
Send your bore’s internal diameter, total depth, static and pumping water levels, bore yield, required flow, delivery elevation, pipe lengths and sizes, and pressure needed at the destination. Include any available bore report.
