Compact pumping for garden watering and water transfer

This 0.55kW peripheral pump is an option for garden watering, suitable irrigation systems and transferring clean water from tanks.

Its peripheral impeller design provides relatively high pressure from a compact pump. It may suit pumping water uphill to a storage tank, provided its performance meets the required flow at that elevation.

Use only with clean water or compatible non-aggressive liquids, free from sand and other solid impurities.

Supplied as pump only. For automatic operation, we recommend a mechanical pressure switch and pressure tank, as this pump is not well suited to an electronic flow-based controller. Contact us for help choosing compatible controls.

A correctly installed non-return valve is essential. Install the pump in a covered, ventilated location protected from the weather.

Performance

• Maximum head: 55 metres
• Maximum pressure generated: approximately 78 PSI / 5.4 bar

Maximum head and maximum flow are separate limits. The 55-metre maximum head is not a usable pumping height at the maximum flow. Elevation and pipework losses must be allowed for when selecting the pump.

FAQs

Does this pump include automatic controls?
No. It is supplied as a bare pump. For automatic operation, a suitable control system must be supplied separately. Contact us for help checking compatibility.

Can I operate it manually?
Yes, with appropriate installation and supervision. Switch it off when pumping is finished. Never leave it running without water or against a closed discharge.

Do I need a non-return valve?
Yes. A correctly installed non-return valve is essential to prevent reverse flow and help retain prime. Follow the installation instructions for its position and orientation.

Can it pump water uphill to a tank?
Potentially, provided the required flow falls within the pump’s capability after allowing for elevation and pipework losses. The 55-metre maximum head does not mean it will deliver a useful flow at that height.

Can it supply sprinklers?
It may suit a sprinkler system where its flow and pressure meet the combined demand. Send us the sprinkler requirements and pipework details if you need help checking.

Can it pump sandy or dirty water?
No. Sand and other solid impurities can damage the pump. It requires a suitable clean-water supply.

Can it be left outside?
It must be installed in a covered, ventilated area protected from the weather.

Does thermal protection prevent dry running?
Thermal protection is not a substitute for dry-run protection. Do not allow the pump to run without water.
