The HiFlo JH550B is a compact, light-to-medium-duty submersible drainage pump designed for removing water from household sumps, swimming pools and flooded areas.

Its internal float switch makes it particularly useful in smaller sumps where a conventional external float switch may not have enough room to operate freely.

With automatic and manual operating modes, an adjustable automatic start level and the ability to handle particles up to 35mm, it's a practical, affordable choice for everyday drainage tasks.

Construction

The JH550B features a lightweight, portable design with an integrated internal float-switch mechanism.

Unlike conventional tethered float switches, the internal arrangement allows automatic operation in more confined sump installations, provided the pump fits and the required operating water levels can be maintained.

Supplied with a non-return flap valve, 10m electrical cable and three-pin plug.

FAQs

Can this pump operate automatically?

Yes. In automatic mode, the internal float switch starts the pump when water reaches the selected start level and stops it at approximately 110mm.

Will it work in a small sump?

Yes. Its internal float switch makes it suitable for smaller sumps where an external float may not operate freely. Check the pump dimensions and operating water levels before installation.

How low can it pump the water?

Approximately 40mm in manual mode. In automatic mode, it switches off at approximately 110mm.

Can it pump dirty water?

Yes, for suitable light-to-medium-duty drainage applications, including water containing particles up to 35mm. It is not intended for construction-site drainage or bio-treatment systems.

Can I leave it running continuously in manual mode?

Manual mode keeps the pump operating while power is supplied. Monitor the water level and switch it off before it runs dry.
