Watertech PumpStop | Dry-Run & Overcurrent Protection
Couldn't load pickup availability
Automatic protection against water shortages and excessive motor current.
The Watertech PumpStop is an electronic pump protection device designed to help prevent damage to compatible single-phase water pumps caused by dry running or excessive electrical current.
It monitors pump operation and automatically shuts the pump down when a water shortage or overcurrent condition is detected.
Ideal for domestic water supply and pressure pump systems, particularly those using conventional pressure switches and pressure tanks without integrated dry-run protection.
Features
- Automatic dry-run protection
- Overcurrent protection for compatible pump motors
- Stops the pump when a water shortage is detected
- LED indicators for power, pump operation and faults
- Manual restart button after a protection shutdown
- Automatic rearming following a temporary power interruption
- Plug-in installation for compatible pumps
- Watertech electronic pump protection
Specifications
- Brand: Watertech
- Model: PumpStop
- Device Type: Electronic pump protection
- Supply Voltage: 230V
- Frequency: 50Hz
- Compatible Pump Motor Current: 3–8A
- Maximum Current: 8A
- Acceptable Voltage Variation: ±10%
- Operating Temperature: 5–45°C
- Maximum Ambient Temperature: 55°C
- Protection Functions: Dry-run and overcurrent shutdown
How It Works
The PumpStop connects between the electrical supply and the pump.
When a water shortage is detected, it automatically stops the pump to protect it against dry running. A flashing red failure indicator identifies this condition.
If motor current exceeds 8A, the device stops the pump to protect against overcurrent. A steady red failure indicator identifies this fault.
Once the underlying problem has been resolved, normal operation can be restored using the red Restart button.
Following a temporary power interruption, the device automatically rearms when power returns.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this device control pump pressure?
No. The PumpStop is a protection device, not a pressure switch or automatic pressure controller.
Does it protect against running dry?
Yes. It stops the pump when it detects a water shortage.
Does it provide overload protection?
Yes. It stops the pump if motor current exceeds 8A.
Will it work with my existing pump?
It is designed for compatible 230V single-phase pumps with a motor current between 3A and 8A. Check the pump's nameplate before purchasing.
Does it restart automatically?
Following a temporary power interruption, it rearms automatically. Following a dry-run or overcurrent fault, the underlying problem should be corrected before manually restarting.
Can I use it with a pressure switch and pressure tank?
Yes, provided the pump and electrical arrangement are compatible. It can provide additional protection for systems without built-in dry-run protection.
